Those geniuses at Standford have done it again, this time creating a Light Field Camera, which measures, "not just the total amount of light deposited at that location, but how much light arrives along each ray". What does this mean? Basically, you shoot once, focus later. See the videos to believe it.

New features for extension developers in Firefox 1.5 - My favorite: Site-specific user style sheet rules. You can now add url-prefix() or domain() selectors to your css rules in order to bind them to a particular site. You could basically skin any (properly coded) site with this, without the aid of any extra extensions.
The Yahoo! Maps Beta is very Google Maps-ish, yet done completely in Flash. Not bad, especially since the URL automatically updates whenever you change the app state, which is what all good Flash apps should do.
