Google, do you ever hear enough about them? no? Then here's more:

Google plans to index TV shows, by indexing the closed-captioning system text. Hopefully, they will index local view schedules sometime too, which some enterprising young hackers could use to make a free tivo feed.

Google also planning VoIP services.

Oh yeah, and they got Ben Goodger (lead engineer for Mozilla Firefox), too.

I wonder when these guys will stop messing around and just buy the internet already?

Just what every underground laboratory needs: a well-built, very conspicuous self-destruct button. I'd love to wire this into my toaster and make it go to 11.

Nanobots "grown" from rat tissue cells. UCLA researchers have "grown muscle tissue onto tiny robotic skeletons" in order to create tiny, self-powered bots.

From the article:

"They're absolutely alive," Professor Montemagno told BBC News. "I mean the cells actually grow, multiply and assemble - they form the structure themselves. So the device is alive."

The notion is likely to disturb many who already have concerns about nanotechnology.

Picasa 2.0 finally released. Adds new image editing features, Photo CD creation and Gmail integration. Still free.

Welcome back from the holidays. What did I do? I spent a lot of time playing CS:Source, that's what. Favorite map of the moment: de_rats, where you play from the vantage point of a rat. Yup. Holes in the walls, giant furniture, everything. Krackhouse.net even has a server dedicated to rat maps. If you got CS:Source, check it out.
